Welcome

The Village Market is the essence of days past. Historically, it has been the place in town to buy groceries, newspapers, cigarettes, tools, candy or a cup of coffee. Customers could catch up on important town business or simply hear the local gossip. The Village Market represents a time when life was simpler, and the local merchants knew you and your kids by name. Back in those days there weren't any large supermarkets, no Starbucks, no Targets and the general store and the barber shop functioned as the town centers.

The Lake Bluff Village Market continues to serve as a vital element to the fabric of Lake Bluff and its central business district. It is a local treasure and serves to set the tone for the type of community you have just entered. After school neighborhood kids gather to buy a soft drink or candy bar and hang out with friends on the front steps. In the morning, locals buy their newspapers and coffee on the way to the train and when something is needed for a recipe in progress a child is always dispatched to pick up the missing ingredient.

Check out the room in back where all the wine is sold and you will quickly realize that you are not in any ordinary wine store. Each selection is hand picked and tasted to qualify for a spot. The wines The Village Market carries are unique and boutique type wines that span the globe. You will not find any of these selections at the chain grocery stores.
